Adult Learning Program The Search Adult Learning Program is more like continuing education than traditional developmental training. Individuals in this program enjoy a diverse lineup of fun and meaningful classes to inspire their day. Classes cover a range of topics, including computer skills, personal care, nutrition, communication and language development, physical fitness, community safety, money management, relationship building and choice making. Additional services include behavioral and art therapy, as well as physical, occupational and speech therapy. Individuals spend the day learning new skills and discovering new interests, with a small group of fellow learners. No two group schedules are the same. Individuals can attend full-time, part-time or to take a single class. The Search Adult Learning Program offers services to meet the needs and preferences of individuals with a wide range of developmental disabilities, from mild to profound. A variety of opportunities for community integration activities are available within this program. No Boundaries Program The Search No Boundaries Program is an innovative alternative to the facility-based day service model. In this program, staff facilitates access to community resources where individuals can form social connections, achieve personal goals and engage in a variety of work and volunteer experiences. Services and activities support the desire to increase independence, self-confidence and self-esteem, while enhancing basic social and employment skills. Individuals in the No Boundaries Program experience the satisfaction of being a valued, contributing member of the community. Sensory Explorations Sensory Explorations is designed to serve the needs and desires of individuals with severe and profound developmental disabilities. Sensory Explorations is a perfect fit for individuals with sensory defensiveness, as well as fine motor and communication challenges. Individuals in this program are offered a steady diet of sensory rich experiences to stimulate all five senses, providing opportunities to see, smell, taste, touch and hear the world around them. Activities support the development of fine motor and communication skills, as well as increased body awareness and improved hand-eye coordination. Additional services include behavioral and art therapy, as well as physical, occupational and speech therapy. Specialized community integration activities are available within this program. The Autism Program The Search Autism Program is designed to meet the special needs of individuals with Autism. Services begin with a comprehensive evaluation performed by an experienced team of Autism professionals. Based on evaluation results, as well as input from the individual and their family, an Individual Service Plan is created. The service plan is a personalized strategy for providing an array of services that best meet the needs of the individual. It aligns with the strengths and interests, as well as the personal preferences and goals of the individual. Individuals who desire to pursue employment or community living are supported by a team of Autism professionals who are well-informed of their strengths and challenges. Additional services include behavioral and art therapy, as well as physical, occupational and speech therapy. Specialized community integration activities are available within this program. Visibility Arts Program Visibility Arts is a comprehensive visual arts program that offers a combination of group learning experiences and hands-on studio time, where individuals apply what they have learned. Activities provide a variety of opportunities for self-expression, creativity and achievement. Drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture are just some of the creative mediums explored. The 7,000 square foot Visibility Arts program space includes fully equipped studio facilities and a spacious gallery for exhibitions. Individuals in the program meet and learn from other local artists who are active in the art community. They also enjoy opportunities to show and sell their work in a variety of galleries and public venues. Individuals can participate in this program on a full-time or part-time basis.
