Ignite Plus: Afternoon Classes Powered by Search
Spark Your Passion for Learning and Fun!
Ignite is a series of late afternoon classes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Classes are small so instructors can focus on responding to everyone's needs and adapt their teaching strategies to fit each person. Each class has a different topic or theme and builds useful skills for community life. Past classes include:
• Active Living: Yoga
• Skills for Life: Cooking & the Kitchen
• Life Strategies: Goal Attainment
• Visibility Arts: Drawing Techniques
Ignite classes run in 12-week sessions four times a year in the spring, summer, fall and winter. Classes are 90 minutes in length and run once a week at locations in Mt. Prospect, Lincoln Square, Chicago and Evanston.
Enjoy A Social, Friendly Atmosphere!
"One of the best things about Ignite is seeing the great socialization happening before class. Everyone gathers for a snack and to talk. Some people have been friends for years and some are just getting to know each other. Either way, Ignite gives them a chance to bond and form friendships." – Community Life Coordinator
