Supported Living Program Division Manager

Overview

This position provides leadership and oversight to the Supported Living Program. This includes collaboration on the development and growth of Search’s residential program and supports, specifically the opening and maintenance of new and existing homes, mentoring and training of new management staff and ongoing operation of community-based residences. This also includes the development of new person-centered initiatives, tools and strategies aligned with the Home and Community Based Services Settings rule and Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) standards.

This position reports to the Division Director of Supported Living and Clinical Services.


Responsibilities: 

Administrative/Professional 

  • Supervise and support members of the SLP Management team,
  • Lead and/or contribute to any staff training, assigned committees and task forces as requested,
  • Manage assigned workload effectively by meeting established deadlines,
  • Submit monthly and quarterly reports in an accurate and timely manner,
  • Work closely with the Intake Manager to maintain full enrollment within SLP,
  • Ensure that attendance and all other billing records are maintained in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations,
  • Ensure a positive person-centered planning process is implemented and followed by all SLP management staff,
  • Assist the SLP team with navigating guardianship process when necessary,
  • Ensure systems are present to track completion of monthly Harmony responsibilities, data, and weight monitoring,
  • Ensure support for Quality Assurance activities and confirm needed corrective action is taken,
  • Oversee a system to ensure timely and accurate adherence to policies and procedures related to SNAP benefits, petty cash and individual trust funds,
  • Oversee the training of all SLP staff to ensure full compliance with State and local regulatory requirements based on staff position,
  • Ensure a system is present that allows all incident reports and critical incidents to be completed and routed according to policy,
  • Work closely with the Human Resources department to support the recruitment and retention of SLP staff;
  • Maintain a procedure to ensure SLP site schedules are completed and posted timely and accurately with medication administration requirements met via Search’s online staff scheduling system (i.e. Makeshift),
  • Ensure staff payroll is completed timely and thoroughly,
  • Provide on-call coverage for weekends on a rotating basis and be available for consultation weekday evenings/overnights as needed,
  • Provide leadership in the annual quality enhancement planning process and help to develop and execute related goals,
  • Work with the Transportation Coordinator to ensure vehicle safety and proper vehicle use is prioritized,
  • Support community activity participation in collaboration with the Community Integration Coordinator, including Search for Adventure trips, special recreation activities and Special Olympic participation,
  • Collaborate with Medical Services and the Behavioral Health Department to ensure the health and safety of individuals supported is fully met by SLP,
  • Participate in a coverage plan within the Supported Living department as needed,
  • Maintain 12 continuing education credits annually according to DHS policy for QIDPs,
  • Complete other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Individual Interaction

  • Demonstrate kindness, courtesy, flexibility, responsiveness and consistency in meeting individual and program needs,
  • Ensure that management staff support direct support staff to effectively assist individuals with all activities of daily living,
  • Ensure that individuals are planning and participating in activities of their choosing in the community, working collaboratively with Community Integration staff,
  • Provide individuals with supportive counseling, conflict resolution and problem-solving assistance on an on-going basis and at times of crisis.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Corporate Compliance policy including the employee work rules and state/federal regulations related to services provided by Search such as DHS Rules 120, 119, 116, 115, 50, Medicaid rules, the HCBS Settings rule and CQL standards,
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Master’s degree preferred,
  • At least five-year experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities,
  • At least three years of supervisory experience,
  • Must meet DHS requirements to be a QIDP in Illinois,
  • Must meet DHS requirements to be certified in medication administration,
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 44 lbs.,
  • Ability to perform basic physical moves such as kneeling, reaching, crouching, bending, and twisting,
  • Extensive computer proficiencies, including the Microsoft 365 platform
  • CPR and First Aid certification,
  • Safety Care (as requested)
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Ability to be a certified driver through PACE Vanpool.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $68,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
