Goal Attainment is a great opportunity for anyone with a disability who would like support and guidance to take the next step in their lives - whether that is finding a job, increased involvement in the community, or another personal goal. The course will be led by Nicole Heimdal, a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor with over 5 years experience working with individuals with disabilities. If you or your child with a disability are hoping to increase skills in self-advocacy, communication, personal responsibility, and social thinking, then this group is for you!
Any individuals age 16 and older are encouraged to register for this course.
Meet the Instructor: Nicole Heimdal
As Manager of No Boundaries, Nicole brings several years of practical experience and education in assessment, job placement, and employment services to her role. Nicole provides hands-on training and support to participants as they develop new skills, with the goal of employment and full participation in community life.
Nicole earned a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from IIT, and is a Licensed, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). Since 2008, she has provided comprehensive rehabilitation services, advocacy and support to individuals with a wide range of abilities as they pursue personal goals.
Ignite came about because of the success of The Books and Plays Club, an early evening class focused on literature and theatre which kicked off in early 2014. Over the course of the year, participants studied two classic plays - Romeo and Juliet and Fiddler on the Roof. Ignite continues Search's commitment to flexible learning options for people with disabilities.
