Employee Spotlight: Mary Ann

Mary Ann began her career with Search in 2007 in the Adult Learning Program and currently works in the Supported Living Program at our Sycamore home.
A mom of four, Mary Ann was drawn to the field while raising a son with autism. Her passion is evident both on and off shift. Mary Ann has been instrumental in supporting Search’s first year of Special Olympics programming. Coach Mary Ann led our basketball team all the way to Bloomington, IL, taking second place in state competition—an amazing accomplishment for the team’s first attempt! She also accompanied the track and field athletes to state games earlier this month. Mary Ann coaches her athletes to have fun, be good sports, and win some gold along the way.
When asked what her favorite part of working for Search is, Mary Ann replied “I love all of it, I’m not lying. It’s incredible to learn something new every day.” She loves that Search operates as a family and is proud to work for an agency that lives up to its mission.
In her spare time, Mary Ann is an avid sports fan. She loves football and basketball, which helps her relate to her athletes while coaching. Mary Ann also enjoys volunteering with her children at a homeless shelter. She wants to teach them how fortunate they are.
Search is grateful for Mary Ann’s endless dedication and boundless enthusiasm.
