This Giving Tuesday, we are celebrating the many things Search is to those we support. For many, Search Is Creativity. Our Visibility Arts program provides a space for over 100 professional and emerging adult artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities to explore, learn, create and show their artwork. This program has grown significantly in recent years, with our Visibility Artists hosting art classes, mentoring students and participating in art shows across the country.
Our Giving Tuesday logo was created by one of our Visibility Artists this year. Theo, our featured Visibility Artist, celebrated her 32nd year at Search in October! To capture the theme of each week, she created multiple images that we will be unveiling every Tuesday in November. All of her drawings center around a star. The star represents the light, positivity and joy that Search and our community embody. Her drawing for ‘Search Is Creativity’ is meant to illustrate how creative spaces generate new ideas and exemplifies innovation at Search. help make Search an innovative organization.

Visibility Arts Assistant, Gina Herzik, says that, “Theo loves drawing, specifically cats, dogs and flowers. When she comes to art classes, she likes to draw things that make her happy. She has a very unique and recognizable style to her art that brings joy to the people who see her work.”
Over the years, Theo has developed many friendships with her fellow artists. According to Gina, “Theo is really enthusiastic about the work of her peers, always supporting and encouraging other artists. Everyone loves being around Theo because she is very personable and her smile is the best thing. She also loves Minnie and Mickey Mouse!”
