Giving Tuesday was an Overwhelming Success!

Exciting news! With your help, Search exceeded our goal of raising $15,000 on Giving Tuesday! Over 100 donors came together to raise more than $18,000 for Search – the largest single day of individual giving in Search’s history. Thanks a generous matching grant from The Coleman Foundation, that means we will have raised almost $30,000 in one day. This is AMAZING! This success is made possible thanks to you – our dedicated supporters. We are also especially thankful to The Coleman Foundation, Horny Toad Clothing and our tremendous employees for their ongoing support!

One of the best parts of Giving Tuesday was seeing the people we serve get into the spirit of giving back. Search’s Planet Access Company work crew spent several weeks collecting canned food for the Northern Illinois Food Bank. They donated in total over 90 pounds of food! In addition, Horny Toad generously donated 20 boxes of clothing that were distributed by members of Search’s Self-Advocacy group to four local charities - YWCA, Sylvia House, Kaleidoscope, and Ignatia House - on Giving Tuesday, December 2. It was so inspiring to see the people we serve put their time and effort into making their community a better place. They proved that ordinary people really can make a difference.
