Meet Jacob, PAC Warehouse Employee

Jacob has been a Returns/Inventory Transfer Specialist at Search's Planet Access Company (PAC) Warehouse since November 2015.
PAC, a social enterprise of Search, is a third-party logistics provider and warehouse that provides paid work and vocational training for people with disabilities. In conjunction with a generous investment by The Coleman Foundation, Search has been able to create new competitive job placements for individuals with disabilities, at minimum wage or better. Jacob was the first person hired under this initiative. Today, the PAC Warehouse employs an inclusive team of people with and without disabilities.
Q: Tell me about what you do for your job at PAC...
A: I do web returns and inventory transfers. Web returns are checking returned clothes and decide if they are damaged and then scanning them in to give the customer their money back.
Q: What do you like about your job?
A: Having fun on it! [I] have fun working with the co-workers and listen to the big boss.
Q: What is different for you now that you have a job?
A: Getting paid every two weeks - I like that.
Q: Why is it important for you to have a job?
A: Be a good employee and work hard - show the boss to make him proud of us.
Q: Why is it important for businesses to hire people with disabilities?
A: Because it helps them out and helps us out and to give [me] a chance to show what I can do.
Q: Tell me about yourself. What do you like to do for fun?
A: I like to play golf with my dad when I see him. I play Special Olympics basketball and I went downstate for tournament on March 17th. I like to play games on my computer and listen to music. My favorite kind of music is Christian music. I like to hang out with my girlfriend; we just went on a date to Windy City Bulls.
Thank you Jacob for your hard work!
