Planet Access Company Moves to New State of the Art Facility

Planet Access Company, a leader in third party logistics, order fulfillment, and supply chain management, has recently moved to a new facility in Des Plaines, IL. Planet Access Company (PAC) has been a social enterprise of Search since 1997 and was formerly located in Waukegan, IL.
The move allows the warehouse to more than double its capacity, from 34,000 to 72,000 square feet, and provides for future expansion as well as increased efficiencies in operations. The new Des Plaines location is easily accessible from O'Hare Airport, highways I-90 and I-294, and is also in close proximity to Search's flagship site in Mt. Prospect.
"As our client base continues to expand and our needs evolve, we needed to find the right space in the right location for Planet Access Company and our clients," says Doug Comerford, General Manager of PAC. "This move allows us to significantly decrease our throughput time with automation enhancements that we could not facilitate in our old space. At double the size, our new facility allows us to expand employment services to the adults with disabilities that are the primary focus of Planet Access Company's social mission."
More than 70 individuals with disabilities take part in employment opportunities offered through PAC. This move coincides with a new investment by The Coleman Foundation to support competitive job placements for people with disabilities at PAC, as well as external businesses in the community.
